“自杀是不痛的”歌曲如同叙述他人故事一般的冷静和娓娓道来。并不像ann个人作品中的那样愉悦，也没有johannsson惯常的trip-hop桥 段，简简单单的ac guitar分解和弦，伴随的却是相对复杂的人声，这固然包括了lady和bird的声音，其中ann负责了3个声部，所有合成 起来，加上歌词，犹如处于自杀的边缘并考虑中，压抑，模糊，同时代有疑虑的感觉…
这是一张简洁的封面下藏着冰冷绝望的CD，从第一曲〈Do What I Do〉的自问，到《Suicide Is Painless》，轻柔的吉他，舒缓的歌声和平滑的节奏，隐伏着沉痛无助的情绪，直至专辑结尾一曲〈La Ballade Of Lady & Bird〉，其中用合成器制造出的两个小孩的对话，使这种对人生的质问达到高潮，象水池中的一把小刀片，不经意间就划破了你的手指，在流水的轻抚中感觉到疼痛。
