梅花鹿是亚洲东部的特产种类，也分布于俄罗斯东部、日本和朝鲜，曾广布中国各地，仅残存于吉林、内蒙古中部、安徽南部、江西北部、浙江西部、四川、广西等有限的几个区域内。台湾分布有一个特有亚种。
